Homemade Bug Spray

Happy Wednesday everybody!

Today I want to share a recipe for making home made bug spray that’s chemical free…..

You will need:

2 oz of either Frankincense hydrosol OR filtered water

16 drops of Patchouli Essential Oil

10 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil

4 drops Spikenard Essential Oil

That’s it!  Pour hydrosol OR water into 2 oz. glass spray bottle, add all the drops, put the lid on, make a label and presto, you’re done!  Took all of 3 1/2 minutes to make!

Here’s a video I made for it…..

There are other essential oils you can try instead of these, like eucalyptus, opopanax, juniper and you can also use peppermint hydrosol instead of frankincense.  This recipe is just one of many ways to utilize ways to use essential oils!

Until next time!  Have a happy healthy day!!! 🙂

Read your ingredient labels!!!

Happy Wednesday y’all!

Yesterday I was perusing a catalog a friend gave me to check out, because it was full of organic products.  I was soooo excited to try a new product……for about a minute, unfortunately.  When I went online to check the ingredients, check out the prices and all the products they carry, my happy bubble was quickly burst.  Now, not alllll the products are what I personally consider unhealthy, but I was shocked at how many were full of unnecessary ingredients!!!  Since when do you need to have sugar in lemon pepper?  REALLY!  There were quite a few things that had sugar or a derivative of sugar or even both that sooooo didn’t need them!  Many of them had maltodextrin listed, which is not only a derivative of sugar, but is also a GMO, and is generally used as a filler.  A lot of the time, for many many people, when they eat products that contain sugar, they begin to crave products with sugar, therefore they buy more of that product, so does that mean they put sugar in it just so you’ll get addicted and buy more?  Who knows, it’s just a thought.  The moral of the story is that just because it’s organic does not necessarily mean it’s good for you.  It means no pesticides were used.  If it says “natural flavors”, put it down, if it says maltodextrin or anything that ends in “ose” (fructose, sucrose, dextrose), put it down, and as far as I’m concerned, at least 99.9% of the time, if it’s not a dessert, it does NOT need sugar in it of any kind!!  So if you really want to use healthier products, please, please, pllllllease read your labels!  You do not need all that garbage in there!  Ok, off my soap box.  😀

Thank you for taking the time to read this hopefully helpful rant!

Until next time, I hope you have a very happy healthy day!  😀

Eucalyptus Shower disks

Happy Sunday everybody!!!

I’ve been wanting to try to do this for a while, and it was soooo easy and took less than 10 minutes so I thought I’d share!

What you need:  glass bowl, fork, muffin pan or candy molds, air tight container, plastic wrap.

1-1/2 cups Baking Soda

2 Tbsp. Arrowroot powder OR cornstarch

2 Tbsp. and 1 Tsp. Water

3/4 tsp. Eucalyptus Essential oil (120 drops) or a smidge more

1/2 tsp. Peppermint Essential Oil

Mix ingredients together really really realllllllllllllllllly well, then scoop into muffin pan/tin (or candy molds) and press down really well.  Cover and let dry overnight.  Place in airtight container and use whenever it strikes your fancy!  🙂  Don’t place directly under the water or it’ll go away really fast, so off to the side so it melts slowly is best.

Here’s the video, with my assistant Torch and extra vocals from his sister Sassy:

Annnnd there ya go!  Until next time!  Have a Happy Healthy Day!!!

Homemade Vapor Rub

Happy New Year everybody!

I hope you’re all doing wonderfully!  I decided to make a couple of videos to share how to make home made vapor rub.  It took me less than 20 minutes to make, so I can say it’s super easy to make!!

All you need is:

8 oz. of oil (olive, almond, or whatever carrier oil you prefer – I used organic Almond oil).

1 oz. beeswax  (I used the pellets)

1 tsp. menthol crystals

10 drops rosemary oil

20 drops eucalyptus oil

I purchased all my ingredients from, one of my favorite places to buy products.  This is also their recipe that I’m using.

In a double boiler I heated the oil and added the beeswax.  I heated until the beeswax was melted.  I added the menthol crystals and oils.  Stirred until the crystals melted and poured into tins.

Here are the videos:

I hope you’ll not only enjoy watching, I hope you’ll go and make some too!

Until next time!  Have a happy healthy day!!! 😀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, here are some things to think about….

Hi everybody!  It’s October, which is breast cancer awareness month, so I’m sure you’re seeing lots of things about mammograms and screenings and such right now.  You should really do your research before getting a mammogram.  I highly recommend that you do NOT let what a doctor says influence you, nor your family or friends.  Do YOUR OWN research!

My mom had a double mastectomy in her 40’s, so I am supposed to be checked regularly via mammogram. Uh uh, no way, not happenin’ ever again. I had two when I was in my 30’s and they were very uncomfortable, and one was downright painful.

I learned about, and researched, thermography and found that it is a much better alternative for me, and could be for you! If done regularly (annual) it can find issues yearrrrrs earlier than a mammogram can. WITHOUT the radiation! I had a full body thermogram last year and a baseline and follow up 3 months later for the “girls”, now it’s just an annual thing unless there is a problem. It’s like a fingerprint. Unless there is something wrong, it doesn’t have significant changes. Thermography can not only find cancer but it can find other things too, like clogged lymph nodes, heart issues….lots of things. They even found my plantar faciitis that I didn’t tell them I had! I highly recommend you check into it.

What happens in an exam?  Well, first off, it’s downright chilly, but they want your body temperature to come down.  It’s basically like an infrared camera, it reads hot spots.  It is 100% non-evasive.  A little embarrassing for us that don’t want to be clothing free in front of people, but they make it as comfortable as possible and you are only sans clothing in the area they are checking as they are checking it, then you re-cloth and go to the next area to check.  Then they send all the pictures to a certified specialist to check for abnormalities.  Once they do that, they will send you a verrrry comprehensive report, and can/will send one to your doctor if you wish.

Not all doctors are on board with this type of screening, but many are skeptical only due to not knowing anything about it and need to research it themselves.  Some won’t believe a word you tell them unless it’s literally in some kind of Medical Journal.  Regardless, do your own research, make your own decision and do what you feel is right for you, whether you decide to go ahead with a mammogram or choose thermography, make it YOUR choice, not a choice your a coerced into making.

Please take the time to click on the link below and read the article, it just might change or mind…..or not.  Regardless, please make an informed decision when it comes time for your next screening.

Until next time, have a happy healthy day!  🙂

What is Gem Water?

A great article about crystals and using them for your health! 🙂

Crystals Heal

By placing crystals in drinking water the crystal energy is able to restructure the water, and will charge it with negative ions.  (Read more about negative ions and why you want them here).  The water is also charged with the vibration and energy properties of the crystals, and affects the energy body in much the same way as working with the stones themselves.  They’re a great way to incorporate crystal energy into your life, and can be taken anywhere you can take a bottle of water!

1.  Choose your purpose.  Need an energy boost or a stress reliever?  (You can skip this step and move to the next one if you like, never underestimate the benefits of simply choosing stones intuitively!)
2.  Choose your stones.  I recommend no more than three different kinds, not including  quartz which can be added for amplification if you so choose.
3.  Choose your…

Harvest Moon, New Look :)

Hi Everybody!

Happy Harvest Moon!  To celebrate, I thought instead of doing what I shoulllld be doing today (studying) I’d update my blog!  I know, I know, 30 lashes for me!   I study 5-7 hours a day, so a break is nice, though that does mean I have to crack down tomorrow to catch up, but that’s ok.  Blame it on Mercury Retrograde…..  🙂

Also, to celebrate the full moon  , I’m making a gem elixir.  I’ve never done it before, but it is part of my CCH (Certified Crystal Healer) certification classes, so I’m trying it out!  Don’t know what that is?  Well, here are a couple of recipes from my CCH’s website:

Try it out, you may be surprised!  I can’t wait!  My gem elixir is currently sitting out for a few hours under the full moon soaking up extra energy.  🙂

And if you want to read more about tonight’s Harvest Moon, check it out here:
